The ketogenic diet or keto diet is a low-carb diet where you restrict your carbohydrate, eat moderate protein (this is where it differs from the Atkins diet) and consume high amounts of healthy fats.
Keto forces your body to use fat for fuel as opposed to glucose obtained from carbohydrates when your body enters a metabolic state called ketosis.
